Donnie, as he was known to most people, enjoyed his time with family and friends. During the past couple of years, the building of his home added a new and exciting chapter to his life. from living in his new home was well deserved.
Peter was born on August 3, 1953, and lived all of his life on the family farm northwest of Sherman. He graduated from Dell Rapids High School in 1972. Peter worked for several years for the John Morrell Company before making farming his life’s work.
Funeral services will begin at 1:30 pm Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Zion Lutheran Church, Garretson. Burial will be in the Norway Cemetery, rural Garretson. Mary E. Herbert was born January 23, 1930 in Pipestone, MN. She grew up in the Flandreau SD area and received her education in Egan, SD where she graduated from high school. Following high school, Doris furthered her education by attending Sioux Falls College from which she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.
On June 3, 1951, she was united in marriage with Arvid Peterson at Flandreau, South Dakota. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Hartford where Doris began her career as a school teacher. She taught in one-room schools all the way up to multi-classrooms in the Hartford / West Central School district. Her career spanned 40 years with her retiring in 1997.
Memorial services will begin 2:00 pm Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Westside Chapel. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00-7:00 pm Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Westside[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]

William M. Stahl, 86, of Bridgewater passed away peacefully under the care of hospice at his home on Thursday, July 16.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 20 (today), at 10:30 AM at the Hutterthal Mennonite Church, rural Freeman.
William was born January 21, 1929 on a farm west of Freeman. He married Joann Kleinsasser on June 14, 1959. He farmed in the Bridgewater area all of his married life.
Survivors include his wife Joann, Bridgewater; his children , Carol (Tim) Meyer, Columbus, IN; Mark (Karen) Stahl, Kokomo, IN; and Jeanie (Carter) Nold, Brookings and 11 grandchilren. Siblings: Paul Stahl, Bridgewater, Kathryn Hofer, Mary Stahl, John (Deloris) Stahl, Jacob Stahl, Marvin (Judy) Stahl, all of Freeman; in-laws Diane Stahl, Bridgewater, Amos (Kathryn) Kleinsasser, Sarah Stahl Freeman, Bertha (Eldon) Hofer, Huron, and Ruby (Gary) Hughes of Shakopee ,MN.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
