We Save Lives, One Memory at a Time

Marianne Gotwals

Marianne Gotwals, 74, passed away May 05, 2021 at home in Ventura, CA surrounded by loved ones, after a graceful battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Lee Gotwals and her three sons Wade, Kirk and Ross.

Marianne was born Oct 7, 1946 to Virginia and Bernard Feeney in Burbank, CA and spent a carefree childhood with her siblings Joan, Carol and Rick.

She attended Villa Cabrini High School and Cal State Northridge, and was an avid artist, athlete and lifeguard.

She married Lee Gotwals in 1968 and they started a family soon after in Burbank. She lived quite an adventurous life for an at home mom, helping the family relocate to Japan for 2 years in the 1970’s and 4 years in Anchorage Alaska in the 1980’s.

When the Gotwals family moved to Ventura in the mid 80’s, she began teaching at Blackstock Middle School and Williams Elementary in Port Hueneme and was loved by her students and fellow teachers. Marianne was a natural, caring mentor throughout her career.

She enjoyed her retirement and loved her new found quality time, doting over her 4 grandchildren Abigayle, Kylie, Davison and Amelia. She also loved exploring the US and Canada in the RV with her husband, as well as the high- seas on different cruise lines with family and friends. Morro Bay was one of her favorite destinations, where she enjoyed watching the frolicking sea otters.

Marianne will be remembered and admired as a sweet, kind and loving person, who cared more about others happiness than her own, even in her last days.

She will be dearly missed and her legacy of love will live on in our hearts forever.

We are planning to have a “Celebration of Life” in July.
