Neither of us can actually dance, which the DJ knew, because he picked a song slow enough that all we had to do was sway and try not to step on each other’s feet. Rose Garden Estate turned gold right as the sun dropped behind the arbor, and for about three minutes it felt like the entire reception disappeared and it was just the two of us out there.
Sam forgot the small spin we’d practiced twice in the living room. Taylor improvised. Nobody in the crowd noticed, though our best man definitely got it on video, and we’re told it’s still painful to watch back.
Then everyone else flooded the floor, the band picked up the tempo, and the quiet part of the night was over. This page is only an example of what a memory page can hold — one song, three minutes, saved forever.
Three minutes, golden light, and a spin neither of us pulled off — caught on video anyway.
