Grandma still insists on cooking for twenty people even though we keep telling her fifteen would be plenty. Nobody argues very hard, because the extra food means leftovers for a week and nobody’s complaining about that either.

This year the whole family actually managed to be in the same room at the same time, which felt like its own small miracle. Someone put on the same playlist as every other year.
